Nuclear Crisis in Iran

I find it interesting that the Iraq war was based on the assumption that Saddam Hussein had control of weapons of mass destruction. Yet, when a country is proven to have control of WMDs the United States and the United Nations don’t react as strongly as they had before. Ahmadinejad is not as infamous as Hussein, but he is still not trustworthy. The thought is what are the factors that are keeping the U.S. out of Iran? It could be because the country has finally understood that its citizens do not want to participate in wars that involve changing governments of foreign countries. It could relate to oil imports from Iran.  There is a list of possibilities as to why the country has not invaded Afghanistan; the only problem is, once again, citizens are clueless. Hooray.

Notes:

Nuclear Use is supposedly for alternative energy source rather than weapon use.
Reports have been made by U.N. representatives that state the nuclear power plants have been used in ways to create devices rather than energy
U.S. tried blocking off financial system for Iran leading to Iran threatening the U.S. with blocking the Strait of Hormuz
The economy began to show signs of strain as it was being caught off from certain resources
Citizens began to panic erupting the country into different forms of chaos involving violence and protesting.
